The Founding Ceremony of Dr. Pedro Choy College of Chengdu University of TCM
The Founding Ceremony of Dr. Pedro Choy College of Chengdu University of TCM & the Opening Ceremony for Students of Bachelor degree was held in Lisbon, Portugal on March 31st, 2008. This is the first overseas branch school of Chengdu Universtiy of TCM, which can convey the bachelor degree of TCM major (including acupuncture-moxibustion) with the approval of the Ministry of Education of P.R.C.. And this college is also the first college of bachelor program of TCM education abroad.
There were about 200 participants attending the ceremony, including the Ambassador Gao Kexiang of Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Portuguese republic, delegation of the Health Ministry of Portugal, delegation of the government of Lisbon city, vice president of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies Prof. Li Zhenji, President of Chengdu University of TCM Prof. Fan Xinjian and delegations from Chengdu University of TCM, President of Dr. Pedro Choy College Prof. Pedro Choy and 200 teachers and students from the branch college.
In the ceremony, President Prof. Fan Xinjian of Chengdu University of TCM read out the document ¡°A letter of the Ministry of Education of P.R.C. agreed carrying out the bachelor program of TCM in Portugal by Chengdu University of TCM¡± and gave an ebullient speech. Prof. Fan Xinjian expressed that according to the requirements of the Ministry of Education of P.R.C., Chengdu University will make best efforts together with Dr. Pedro Choy College to build up this first overseas branch college a great success.
